* The concept of accepting political patronage/advocacy/sponsorship for the detainees of recent protests in Iran started in Germany and has since expanded to other European countries. Some members of parliament in Germany and Sweden announced that they take sponsorship for specific detainees in Iran. The member of parliament advocates for these detainees and also use their power to pressure the regime in Iran to release them. CFPPI has been encouraging other members of the parliament in European countries, as well as members of parliament in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to take political sponsorship for the detainees in Iran.
