Political sponsorship

Political sponsorship for detainees in Iran began with members of parliament in Germany and later expanded to other countries. A sponsoring parliamentarian publicly advocates for an individual detainee and uses their position to press for that person’s release. CFPPI encourages parliamentarians in Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to sponsor political prisoners and detainees in Iran.
