Mission Statement

The Campaign to Free Political Prisoners in Iran (CFPPI) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2006 by former Iranian political prisoners residing in the UK. As one of the first organizations advocating globally for the release of political prisoners in Iran, CFPPI is dedicated to amplifying the voices of detainees and their families while actively working to end all forms of torture and abolish the death penalty in the country.

CFPPI is a registered as an none-profit organization in Canada. It is entirely volunteer-run and does not receive any funding from any government. Over the years, the CFPPI network has expanded internationally, with active operations in Canada, the UK, Iran, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, and Spain.

Our Mission

Advocacy and Awareness: We raise global awareness about the plight of political prisoners in Iran, exposing the regime’s human rights violations. By building international solidarity, we seek to pressure the regime in Iran to release political prisoners, end torture, and abolish the death penalty.

Fighting Against Torture: We are committed to documenting and exposing all forms of torture in prisons in Iran, including psychological, physical, sexual, and pharmacological torture. We also shed light on the pressure and psychological torment imposed on the families of political prisoners and human rights defenders.

Abolishing the Death Penalty: We actively work to expose and document the government’s use of the death penalty in Iran, advocating for individual cases, and mobilizing international support to end executions.

Advocating for Justice and Accountability: We stand in solidarity with the families of political prisoners and those who have lost loved ones to the regime’s violence, during protests, or through other modes of state repression. Through our reports, we document the struggles of political prisoners, protestors, and their loved ones, amplify their voices globally, and highlight individual cases to strengthen the justice-seeking movement in Iran.

Documentation and Reporting: We document prison conditions, enforced disappearances, and various forms of torture used by the regime. Our reports provide credible evidence to the international community, shedding light on state violence and the experiences of affected families.

Human Rights Protection: We are committed to combating systematic human rights violations and advocating for a future where no citizen in Iran lives in fear of arbitrary arrest, torture, or execution.

Collaborative Action: We work alongside international human rights organizations, labour unions, governments, members of parliament, and institutions such as the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU), and the European Parliament. Through these coordinated efforts, we strive to exert pressure on the regime in Iran to uphold justice and end human rights abuses.
