A HOLOCAUST IN IRAN: Reports of Mass Executions, Secret Prison Massacres, and Crimes Against Humanity

February 2026

The Campaign to Free Political Prisoners in Iran (CFPPI) is issuing an emergency warning to the world: credible reports from inside Iran indicate that the Islamic regime is carrying out what can only be described as a Holocaust against its own people.

Systematic mass executions, secret detention centres, torture, rape, and enforced disappearances are being reported on a scale so vast and coordinated that comparisons to genocide are no longer sufficient. This is a Holocaust unfolding in real time.

According to eyewitnesses, families, medical personnel, and cemetery workers, hundreds — and potentially thousands — of detainees have been secretly executed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Victims are reportedly shot in undisclosed locations, their bodies transported to morgues or mass graves, and then falsely registered as individuals “killed during street protests.”

A mortician in Tehran reported:

Security forces brought bodies and claimed they were killed during protests. But the gunshot wounds were fresh — as if inflicted only a day or two earlier.

Evidence of Systematic Mass Killing

Reports indicate:

  • Thousands of detainees are being held in warehouses (“Souleh”) outside major cities such as Tehran and Isfahan to conceal executions.
  • Hundreds of detainees have been executed by shooting and falsely documented as protest casualties.
  • Mass graves have been identified in several locations, particularly outside major cities.
  • At least 100,000 individuals — including injured protesters — have been abducted and detained, mostly in unknown locations.
  • Medical personnel have been arrested for treating wounded demonstrators.
  • Daily raids on homes, workplaces, and streets continue to expand the number of detainees.
  • Detainees have reportedly been given lethal injections with unknown substances.
  • Female detainees have been subjected to gang rape and extreme sexual violence.
  • Children have been detained, tortured, and raped.
  • Organs have been removed from deceased protesters.
  • Detainees have been tortured — including boiling water poured on their hands — to force false confessions.
  • Televised confessions are extracted under torture.
  • Toxic chemical agents, tear gas, and pellet ammunition have been used against civilians.
  • Injured protesters have reportedly been given “finishing shots.”
  • Injured detainees were reportedly murdered by IRGC forces by strangling them in hospital beds. One example is 21-year-old Sadegh Parvaresh, a front-end developer, who was strangled at Milad Hospital in Tehran while injured.
  • Families have been charged for the bullets used to kill their loved ones as a condition for retrieving bodies.

One survivor described being taken to a warehouse detention site:

I smelled blood. I saw children — as young as 13 — chained to walls and raped. Guards tortured and raped us while laughing, saying: ‘You want freedom? Here is your freedom.’

The above represents only a fraction of the ongoing atrocities. Due to the regime’s digital blackout, minimal information is coming out of Iran, and international news agencies are not allowed to enter to investigate independently.

CFPPI has previously warned the international community of “execution and secret prison massacres.” Those warnings have now escalated into what amounts to a Holocaust in Iran — a coordinated campaign of terror and annihilation against civilians demanding freedom.

Tens of Thousands Killed

Reports indicate that at least 30,000 people were systematically shot dead by the IRGC across Iran within two days, January 8–9, 2026. Tens of thousands more detainees — including children and wounded protesters — remain in undisclosed locations where they face torture and possible execution.

The crimes committed since the nationwide protests began constitute crimes against humanity and demand immediate international intervention.

International Inaction Enables the Holocaust

While this Holocaust unfolds, segments of the international community continue diplomatic engagement with the regime.

While this atrocity unfolds, segments of the international community continue diplomatic engagement with the regime. Negotiations with the Islamic regime not only provide time and legitimacy to the perpetrators but also risk enabling further mass killings.

Waiting for official execution announcements only allows the regime to continue its secret massacre — which happens daily. History has shown that silence in the face of a Holocaust is complicity.

CALL TO ACTION — ACT NOW

The people of Iran need immediate international solidarity and decisive intervention.

CFPPI urgently calls on governments worldwide and the United Nations to act immediately.

CFPPI also appeals to human rights organizations, trade unions, civil society groups, and concerned individuals to pressure their governments, the EU, and the UN to take immediate action:

  • Immediate and unconditional release of all detainees and political prisoners
  • Emergency UN intervention to prevent further mass executions
  • Restoration of full internet and telecommunications access
  • Expulsion of regime diplomats and closure of regime embassies

This Holocaust in Iran is happening right now. The world must not wait for history to record the scale of the slaughter. The time to act is NOW.
