THIS IS NOT NEWS. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY WARNING.
Date: 1 February 2026
Iran is on the brink of another mass atrocity — one that is unfolding in total secrecy inside prisons and detention centres across the country.
Credible reports received by the Campaign to Free Political prisoners in Iran (CFPPI) indicate that thousands of detainees face imminent execution in the coming days. With no access to prisons, no independent monitoring, and a nationwide digital blackout, these killings are taking place beyond the view of the world.
If immediate international action is not taken, a large-scale prison massacre will occur.
IMMINENT THREAT INSIDE IRANIAN PRISONS
- The regime’s Judiciary has announced the execution of thousands of detainees, to be carried out within days.
- Hundreds of detainees have already been secretly executed, then falsely listed among those “killed in street protests.”
- Tens of thousands of detainees, including children and the wounded, are held in unknown locations and face torture and death.
- There is no footage from inside prisons — killings are happening in silence.
Ghezelhesar Prison — A Warning Sign
In Ghezelhesar Prison, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has deployed special forces inside all wards, fully armed and prepared to violently suppress or kill prisoners at any sign of resistance. This mirrors patterns seen before previous prison massacres.
ONE MONTH OF MASS KILLINGS — AND COUNTING
Since 28 December 2025, following nationwide protests, Iran has entered a phase of systematic mass killing.
- Over 30,000 people are estimated to have been killed in two days in January 2026.
- These figures only include those shot dead or executed publicly.
- A second, hidden layer of massacre is taking place inside prisons, with no published lists of detainees or the dead.
Families across Iran have gathered for weeks outside prosecutor offices and detention centres, desperately searching for loved ones. They are met with silence, threats, beatings, and arrest.
SECRET EXECUTIONS AND HOSPITAL ATROCITIES
Reports received by the CFPPI confirm:
- Injured protesters are taken to prisons instead of hospitals, particularly Fashafouyeh Prison, where many are left to die from untreated wounds — a form of silent execution.
- Hospitals have been raided by the IRGC, including Milad Hospital in Isfahan.
- Injured protesters are abducted directly from hospital beds.
- Medical staff have been arrested and disappeared.
- Detainees and wounded patients have been strangled, shot at close range, or given “finishing shots.”
- Bodies are confiscated by the IRGC.
- Secret mass graves are reported including one outside of city of Isfahan.
- Families are forced to pay 7 million to 1 billion toman to retrieve bodies — if they are allowed to retrieve them at all.
Due to fear of arrest or execution, many wounded civilians avoid hospitals, dying from blood loss and lack of medical care in homes with no facilities. Mothers have been forced to bury their children secretly in gardens to prevent the IRGC from abducting their bodies. Funerals and public burials are banned.
TOTAL REPRESSION AND DIGITAL BLACKOUT
- Since 8 January, internet and phone networks have been shut down.
- Checkpoints operate across cities and highways, including around Tehran.
- Homes are being raided to arrest protesters, abduct the wounded, and seize bodies.
- Forced confessions and torture are routine.
- Families are threatened not to speak out.
Despite the risk of death, people inside Iran are risking everything to send information to the outside world.
THIS IS NOT A CRACKDOWN — THIS IS A MASSACRE
What is unfolding in Iran meets the definition of crimes against humanity.
Without immediate international intervention, thousands more will be executed in secret.
CALL TO ACTION — ACT NOW
People in Iran need your voice and your action — NOW.
We urgently call on governments in the EU and worldwide to:
- Demand the immediate and unconditional release of all detainees and political prisoners
- Ensure the immediate restoration of internet and telecommunications
- Withdraw ambassadors from Iran without delay
- Expel regime diplomats and close Iranian embassies
- Initiate emergency UN investigations into prison massacres
- Hold Iran’s leadership criminally accountable
Silence will cost lives. Delay will enable mass execution.
