IRAN:
Campaign to Free Political Prisoners in Iran (CFPPI) exposes Pharmacological Torture Inflicted Upon Political Prisoners in Iran
CFPPI vehemently condemns the alarming increase in the use of pharmacological torture against political prisoners in Iranian prisons by the Islamic regime. Since the tragic death of Jina MahsaAmini in custody in September 2022, there has been a disturbing rise in the use of pharmacological torture in prisons throughout Iran by the Islamic regime.
Pharmacological torture, historically employed by oppressive regimes, is used to intensify suffering, extract coerced information, and enforce compliance by inducing pain, anxiety, panic, and various psychological disturbances. The Islamic regime in Iran has deliberately and systematically subjected numerous political detainees to pharmacological torture, forcibly sending them to psychiatric facilities and administering anti-psychotic medications as a means of torment. Regrettably, these heinous acts by the Iranian regime have largely escaped international attention and remain uninvestigated, allowing the regime to clandestinely harm or eliminate political prisoners without scrutiny.
The enclosed report provides a few examples illustrating and highlighting the use of pharmacological torture in prisons in Iran. CFPPI calls for a comprehensive investigation into the appalling experiences endured by political prisoners in these facilities. It is crucial that this concise report serves as a catalyst, compelling the international community to undertake a rigorous investigation into the criminality of pharmacological torture committed by the Islamic regime in Iran.

CFPPI remains committed to advocating for release of political prisoners worldwide and calls for immediate action to address this grave human rights violation in Iran.
