REPORT

The Islamic regime in Iran tortures and kills children!

Campaign to Free Political Prisoners in Iran (CFPPI) has published a report on the numerous cases of abduction, torture, and killings of children by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran since September 2022, after the death of Mahsa (Jina) Amini while in government custody. CFPPI urges the international community, including UNICEF and governments, to take concrete steps toward investigating the crimes committed by the Islamic regime in Iran against children.

As outlined in the report, among the children who have been injured by shotguns, many are currently in need of treatment but are unable to access hospital care for fear of being found out by the IRGC. Children have been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms without access to psychological treatments. Their parents have been warned and threatened by the IRGC not to speak out about the situations of their children.

Since September 2022, at least 76 children have been murdered by the IRGC security forces, and hundreds have been injured, abducted, detained, and tortured. Shortly after the rise of protests, the IRGC forces targeted at least 38 schools to abduct children. Many children were sent to a so-called “reforming” program and were subjected to physical and psychological torture. Moreover, since November 2022, at least 4000 schoolgirls have been subjected to chain chemical attacks and exposed to unknown harmful substances causing hospitalization in many cases.

The report outlines a set of urgent actions for governments and international organization to address the crimes against children committed by the IRGC and the Islamic regime in Iran.
