Why the death sentence of Sina Dehghan is not highlighted in media?

Sina Dehghan, 21, was arrested in October 2015 when he was 19 years of age and was sentenced to execution in the penal court of the city of Arak. Several others such as Sahar Elyasi, Marjan Davari, Mohamad Nouri, Soheil Arabi and Rouhollah Tavana are in prison on similar charges including “insulting the Prophet Mohammad”.

The story of Sina, In particular, has been published on social media and  have attracted the attention of many. Sina’s ‘crime’ is practicing his freedom of expression and speaking about love.

Two months before his arrest, Sina posted the following picture on his Instagram with the title of “ toward Freedom”. He did not know he will be arrested. Like many other youngsters in Iran, love was giving him hope. He was not  happy about the restrictions in Iran. In one of his writings he writes to his lover and says: “ you are the only God that brought hope to me, you are the only prophet who made a magic happen.” In his writing he is upset that the government in Iran does not care about young people, and he says “ If the God is not giving support, then it is better to forget about that God”.
